The possibilities of DoJa are still yet to be explored, and due to DoJa's lack of restraints the speed at which new services are being adopted is quite rapid.
What lies ahead? Applications, camera related functionality, remote control, 3D sound, 2-dimension barcodes (QR Code), contactless IC card technology (Felica), fingerprint recognition...
As opposed to MIDP which is being used to implement the functionality of computers, DoJa's predominant feature is that it is being used to implement functionality unique to mobile phones.
That said, in Japan it has started to impact people's lives in a big way, from interactive TV and magazines to e-commerce.
I encourage you all to use DoJa and try your hand at creating applications uniquely designed for mobile phones.

If i-mode was the first major step in the evolution of mobile phones, DoJa applications would have to be the second. It has been four years since DoJa applications were first introduced in Japan. Now they are being used in a wide variety of ways.
DoJa applications have transformed mobile phones into a new platform for creators. The world of DoJa applications is different from the static, large scale world of computer software. It's a world of ideas and original invention. I feel that because of the lack of limitations in the world of DoJa applications, creators can do a lot more.
I'm looking forward to seeing the amazing contents that arise from this contest.
